Abstract

The patchwork of land is one of the major factors that have a negative impact on the organization and the level of agricultural production. Excessive fragmentation reduces the intensity of work and increases the costs of agricultural production, thus generating lower and lower incomes. In terms of the unfavorable geometry of the boundaries of plots, resulting from the considerable fragmentation of land, the land patchwork plot is also an obstacle to building a cadastral system in Poland. The geodesy tool for improving the soil layouts of the Polish countryside is the process of land consolidation and exchange. Undertaking works aimed at improving the agricultural production space in all villages at the same time is impossible due to the economic, technical and social conditions. In connection with the above, the work aimed at transforming the faulty land structure should be carried out first in the villages where the need to do the most urgent ones occur. The aim of this study was to determine the need for consolidation and exchange of land in sixteen villages of Frampol commune, located in Bi?goraj District, Lubelskie Voivodship. The research area covered 1,0293.55 ha of farmland divided into 27,417 land parcels (cadastral plots). The zero unitarization method and Hellwig?s method were used to determine the ranking list. The calculations were made using a group of factors identified on the basis of data obtained from a real estate cadastre database for each of the locations studied. The results, expressed in the form of a synthetic measure for each village, allowed us to develop a prioritization scheme for consolidation interventions in the area discussed
