NATURAL RESOURCES AND EXPERT ANALYSIS OF APPLICATION OF ENVIRONMENTAL MANAGEMENT PRINCIPLES IN YAKUTIA
Abstract
This study aimed to identify the level and extent of use of environmental management principles (45 principles) in the productive and economic activities of mining enterprises, in normative and reference documents, in scientific articles and monographs related to the problem of natural resource economy of Yakutia. The paper presents the questionnaire drawn up to obtain expert assessments for examining the use of environmental management principles in research and practice. The experts were scientists and specialists of geology, mining, ecology and economic profile from academic institutions and higher education institutions of Yakutsk, leading specialists of mining enterprises of Yakutia, as well as authors of articles and monographs on this field. Direct (experts) or indirect (data from publications) survey data were aggregated to determine the overall extent of use of the basic principles of environmental management. Based on the expert evaluation, the level of use of environmental principles in the organization of scientific research and production works is calculated. Its low value of 0.508 confirms the verbal conclusions about the lack of understanding and application in scientific and practical work of the main principles of environmental sustainability. This practice of assessing the extent to which environmental management principles are used can help to identify the level of fundamental research in the economics of natural resources management
