EVALUATION OF -ADGEZOLIN- ADDITIVE EFFECTS OBTAINED WITH VARIOUS TECHNOLOGIES ON PHYSICAL AND CHEMICAL PROPERTIES OF BITUMEN
Abstract
Road infrastructure is a vital system that has a direct influence on economy of states. In this regard, there is a direct relationship between the coating conditions of automobile roads and the countryпїЅs industrial development. This dynamic increases intensity and traffic congestion constantly. Thereby, it is necessary to eliminate the damages and increase the exploitation time of road coatings. This concerns mostly asphalt - concrete pavements which form the basis of automobile road networks in countries. Based on the concept of nontraditional cationic surfactants, a new adhesion additive has been developed which improves adhesion to mineral materials, having normal and acidic nature. Accordingly, пїЅADGEZOLINпїЅ adhesive additive obtaining technology is developed. It is found that addition of developed additive to bitumen in amount of 0.8-1% positively influences adhesion of bitumen to rock materials. The obtained experimental results recommend the application of пїЅADGEZOLINпїЅ as a component in asphalt пїЅ concrete mixture for road coatings. It was revealed that bitumen with developed additive is less prone to aging. This is confirmed by decreasing the temperature difference of softening point before and after heating. The recommended additive in bitumen composition is not just improving the adhesion to basic and acidic mineral materials, but also enhances physical and mechanical properties of resulting road coatings.
