Abstract

Establishing public policies that result in decision-makers and citizens who are much more active when drafting, using, or pursuing how to implement strategies on proposed goals through sustainable development. Romania's National Strategy on Sustainable Development is based on the European Union Strategy for Sustainable Development with the set-ups set in Lisbon, and it is meant to be a binder for the elaboration and establishment of new public policies, which have the effect of changing the attitude of the society Romanian and decision-makers as well as citizens are much more active when drawing up, using or pursuing the implementation of strategies for the proposed goals through the application of Sustainable Development. This requires very good collaboration between civil society, the local community, citizens and social partners. The paper aims to achieve a harmonious correlation of the economic, social-cultural and ecological elements in establishing the sustainable development strategy of Oltenia basin.
