Abstract

Currently, a lot of environmental problems are related to the development of the city. The relevance of this work is due to the population growing awareness of reaching a critical point of the negative impact of the environment on human life. In the course of the study, sociological information about the population perception of the current environmental situation in the city was collected, summarized and critically analyzed, and the population readiness to participate in solving environmental problems by organizing joint activities was determined. The results of the study of residents of the city, which is the median for the state of ecology, showed their awareness of environmental problems and recognition of the fact that one of the reasons for their manifestation is the indifference, unconsciousness and passivity of the population. According to the survey, the first person to declare the presence of environmental problems in the city has to be its resident as a citizen who can study the issue and express their founded opinion on this issue, and the consolidation of members of the city community will affect the state of the city environment and contribute to solving socially significant environmental problems. The results of the study show the need to develop a mechanism for consolidating the efforts of citizens to update and discuss environmental problems in the public space and find solutions to them. The development of such a mechanism is possible when individual resources of members of the city community are capitalized.
