Abstract

The adverse effects of nutrient enrichment of surface waters, ?aquatic eutrophication?, have been identified as a major environmental issue at national and international levels. A range of statutory and international commitments, including EC Directives, the OSPAR Convention and the UK Biodiversity Action Plan, requires action to be taken to address the threats to the quality, ecology and uses of our waters. However, while these initiatives are helpful in controlling eutrophication, each addresses certain parts of the problem, rather than the whole. Eutrophication represents a normal process as time as its evolution is natural, and one of first six major environmental problems from the world lakes and reservoirs. Our researches were made since 2008 until 2018 on several important Romanian lakes: Izvoru Muntelui ? Bicaz, Cuejdel ? Neamt, Batca Doamnei, Parcovaci, and Stanca Costesti. We focused on the hydro-chemical, biological and bacteriological characteristics analyze. With regard to nutrient pollution from agriculture, we will promote a general reduction of nutrient inputs to water from the main sources, complemented by more concerted action in catchments where the impacts or risks justify this approach. This paper treats the problem of eutrophication for Izvoru Muntelui ? Bicaz Lake, the biggest in our country, analyzed and solved with the help of ?Surface Modeling Systems? program. "Surface Modeling Systems (SMS)" is a comprehensive environmental program used for hydrodynamic modeling of one-, two- and three-dimensional. By using the "SMS" we realized a conceptual model of the variation in concentrations of some important water quality indicators studied, in the nodes created. The results for the water quality indicators chosen correspond to previous research conducted on water of the Izvoru Muntelui ? Bicaz Lake. The reduction of nutrient inputs to water and control of eutrophication locally are shared responsibilities, involving a range of stakeholders. In taking forward this strategy, there are working Government departments, other environmental regulators, industry and interest groups. We realized graphic correlations, with logarithmic equations to describe relations, which permit to establish connections between any two water quality parameters for Izvoru Muntelui ? Bicaz Lake.
