RESEARCHES CONCERNING THE POSSIBILITIES OF MODERNIZING THE CUTTING WHEELS OF THE EXTRACTION TOWER OF SLANIC PRAHOVA SALT MINE
Abstract
The paper approaches a series of researches that concern the finding of a solution for modernizing the cutting wheels of the extraction tower of Slanic Prahova salt mine. With this in view and starting from the observation that the former solution is worn out, a new variant has been conceived and designed in order that it might be applied to the structure of the extraction tower without important changes. Specialized software has been used for the assisted analysis and designing, which is able to provide the correct interpretation of the results, as compared with the former ones. Mining machines are industrial systems of great complexity and importance in the process of extracting useful minerals. This category of installations is an important factor in the operation of mining enterprises and the modernization processes for maintaining and exploiting technical and economic performance and are the only feasible option for continuing the extraction processes. From this point of view, maintaining their high-level production features while observing safety and lowest manufacturing costs turns maintenance into a priority. The paper, which is an original one, also offers a working and approaching methodology, being generally applicable under other similar circumstances.
