THE SIMULATION OF THE RAINFALL - RUNOFF IN REPRESENTATIVE HYDROGRAPHICAL BASIN
Abstract
In recent years the small hydrographical basins were affected by numerous extreme hydrological events. Genesis of floods from these hydrographical basins is linked primarily by climatic conditions and other factors such as: geology, soil by its temperature and its humidity, vegetation, topography trough slopes, shape and surface of the hydrographical basin, which influence the concentration time and water volume. Mike She model is able to simulate the entire stream flow. This paper is using Mike She Model for runoff simulation in representative hydrographical basin of Sebe? river, Timis river tributary, which is located in the west part of Romania. The representative basin Sebes has a small surface of 124 km2 and detains several gauging stations, where the program of hydro-meteorological measures is intense, which allows an easier identification of the influence that the atmospheric precipitations and the geological characteristics of the relief, soil and vegetation have on the runoff in this river basin. This model is based on the hydrological water balance, taking into account the inputs and outputs of the system (hydrographical basin). The input data and the thematic layers of topography, precipitation and soils were prepared in ArcGIS. At the end of this paper, the stimulated result is applied in order to analyze, the simulated runoff predictability in the experimental hydrographical basin Sebes.
