FOSTERING EUROPEAN RESEARCH IN THE SECTOR OF EARTH SCIENCES WITH SUCCESSFUL PARTICIPATION IN EU PROGRAMMES
Abstract
Because of the approved understanding of the ecological system of our planet also Earth Sciences will be asked for solutions of global problems. Various data, knowledge and instruments should be used to give precise answers to provide confidence in the scientific, politic and public community. In addition to this ecological issue Earth Sciences will provide an important impact on European economy to follow the “Lisbon Strategy” to foster the European Economy with a strengthened and excellent European Research Area. Following that goal the EU installed their challenging Framework Programmes. These programmes include increasing number of project ideas in the area of Earth sciences. Finally global problems have to be solved. Especially in various developing countries natural resources can play an important role to achieve a prosperous economy. Strategic success factors will be presented how to apply for such projects and to accomplish appropriate results.
