GEOSTATICAL ANALYSIS OF DENDROLOGICAL OBJECTS IN THE ACADEMIC CAMPUS KORTOWO I (OLSZTYN, POLAND)
Abstract
Dendrological inventory and tree management of the academic campus of the University of Warmia ans Mazury in Olsztyn was prepared in 2008. Analysis covers the area of the oldest part of the campus, named Kortowo I (53,5 hectares). During the study, 7676 dendrological objects were inventoried. Documentation was made in the standard that was current for that time, and now all data has been entered into the GIS system. This form of data recording has expanded the possibilities of processing data sets and visualizing results. The aim of the study is to present the results of geostatic analyzes of the stand and interpretation of the spatial dependencies based on the information obtained from the dendrological inventory. Based on an ordered data set, basic geostatistical analyzes was performed to characterize the objects. Research is based on the defining empirical relationships between selected tree parameters. They may be the base for defining developmental tendencies of selected species. Furthermore, the results of the analyzes allow to evaluate the parameters of objects development depending on their location in the space and the neighborhood. The publication presents selected research results, presented as a thematic studies.
