GEOCHEMICAL CHARACTERISTICS OF FORMATION WATER FOR CARBONATE AND TERRIGENOUS TYPE OF RESERVOIRS BASED ON FLUID-ROCK INTERACTION
Abstract
The article describes the results of geochemical studies of formation water in the Romashkinskoe oil field of the Republic of Tatarstan. Geochemical monitoring is a good indicator of the origin of natural waters, the method can be used to mark formation waters. The study of an extensive collection of produced water made it possible to trace the change in its geochemical composition depending on the age of formation of the reservoir in the Volga-Ural region. Geochemical studies were carried out in the produced formation water of Bobrikovian (C1bb) and Tournaisian (C1t) reservoirs, characterized by different types of rocks - terrigenous and carbonate. Complex studies of the associated water samples were carried out using inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometers: to determine the hydrogen isotopic composition of water samples, a Delta V Plus isotope mass spectrometer (ThermoFisher Scientific, Germany) with a GasBench II attachment in a constant flow mode was used, and to determine the elemental composition, an iCAP Qc inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometer (Thermo Fisher Scientific, Germany) was used. As a result of isotope survey of formation water, data were obtained that include the ratio of oxygen isotopes (O18 / O16) and the ratio of hydrogen isotopes (deuterium). The work revealed the geochemical regularities of the separation of different layers, which may be associated with the moment of water migration, or with the interaction of water and the adjacent rock. Wells that do not obey the general pattern of geochemical composition are considered separately. Recommendations for the operation of these wells are given. Using the methods of mathematical statistics, the calculation of the involvement of each of the layers in the work in the case of a well working on two objects together. This technique is applicable for highly watered wells to determine the flow of produced fluid.
