A DESIGN SOLUTION OF THE MONITORING SYSTEM FOR DISPLACEMENTS AND DEFORMATIONS FOR AN EXPRESS ROAD
Abstract
In order to bypass the big cities, the design of the motorways usually requires to choose the shortest route to reduce the travel times of vehicles. This leads to the construction of the road infrastructure and "works of art" over land areas that are insufficiently stable from a geotechnical point of view. In this context it is necessary to design and implement complex systems for monitoring the behavior of land surfaces and the buildings constructed on them. This article makes reference only to the geodesic and topographic component of the displacements and deformations monitoring system. The principles and criteria that were the basis for choosing this design solution are presented and also the types of implementation for observation points and types of targets and marks that can be placed on monitored objects and areas and the categories of instruments that can be used by indicating their precision. The most important issue that is approached in this article is the concept of monitoring system for пїЅworks of artпїЅ on the route of an expressway (bridges and viaducts), with which, the displacements of each buildingпїЅs element (abutment, pillar, beam, etc.), can easily be put in evidence in 3D, with an accuracy of the +/- 2 mm order.
