Abstract

The article shows the stages of creating an interactive map of tourist resources of the Akmola region by using Web-technology. The main tourist resources of the region and methods for their assessment were determined. The tourist resources of the region are represented by natural (geological and geomorphological, climatic, hydrological, botanical), cultural and historical, also socio-economic resources. Evaluation of geological resources was carried out by using the cartographic method (the cartograms mode). To assess the landscape diversity of the relief was selected geographic information system using the standard ArcGIS module tools ? Spatial Analyst. The comfort of climatic conditions was assessed by using the Tourism Climatic Index. Assessment of the tourist potential of hydrological resources was also carried out by using geographic information systems. The assessment of botanical resources was carried out on the basis of scoring on the suitability of biodiversity for the development of tourism. Cultural and historical resources are estimated by calculating the saturation index of these objects. The assessment of socio-economic resources is based on the regionalization of the territory according to the degree of saturation with objects. The data sources are published, statistical and monitoring data from official sources and sites, official data obtained from central and local executive bodies upon request, and actual digital satellite images from open sources. As a result, based on various created thematic maps, the goal of collecting information into a unified database has been fulfilled, besides an interactive map of tourist resources of the Akmola region has been implemented. The article presents the conclusions and suggestions for the development of tourist resources in the region.
