MINING BY-PRODUCTS FROM LIGNITE OPEN PIT PESTEANA SUD, OLTENIA COAL BASIN
Abstract
The main Romanian lignite reserves are located in the south west of the country, in Oltenia coal basin and could be efficient exploited in open pits. After a briefly geological description of lignite deposit from PeЕџteana open pit, the paper deals with the sand and gravel layer located as overburden of lignite seams. After the granular analysis, the technique of modeling the gravel layer and the reserve evaluation, the economical end environmental implications conclude the paper.
