Abstract

The Carpathian National Nature Park is the first national park of Ukraine and one of the biggest national parks of this country, unique in the nature landscapes what used for the tourist attractiveness. Based on the long-term field investigations, the recreational conditions of the Carpathian National Nature Park for the tourist attractiveness was researched. The results received pose multiple paramount grounds for a scientific approach developing aimed at the optimisation of recreation functions of the Park landscape in order to create prerequisites for recreation and tourism. The recreation functions of the territory depend on the needs and the availability of a set of natural conditions. Landscape analysis of natural recreational conditions and resources was performed based on the results of landscape survey and assessment works conducted within the Chornohora mountain range, Vorokhta lowlands and medium-altitude of the Gorgany mountain range. Each of these landscapes has been identified according to the recreational potential of natural components. Various functional forms of recreation and leisure are determined by features of the territorial association as well as qualitative differences in natural recreational conditions and resources. In the perspective of recreation and tourism activities, a wide range of criteria were used in presented results, where the most important ones in terms of terrain attractiveness are recreation criteria, i.e. morphological, climatic, balneological, vegetation, in other words, those in respect of which the Carpathian National Nature Park holds its special status. The presented research, besides analysing the current state and optimisation of recreational functions of the Carpathian National Natural Park landscapes, offers the assessment of its relief and comfort of weather and climatic conditions, vegetation cover for the needs of recreation, which allowed creating a geographic information system (GIS) as a basis for the study and development of recreational and tourism activities (Olenych I., 2019).
