Abstract

The paper discusses the comparative analysis of crude oil extracted from the core material and bituminous oil using the method of gas-liquid chromatography. The method involves partition of hydrocarbon mixtures in the columns under the dynamic conditions. The output is recorded as a series of peaks - each one representing a compound in the mixture passing through the detector. Gas-liquid chromatography is a powerful tool in analyzing complex petroleum mixture components very close in their composition even when their boiling point differs in one tenths of degree. It is a high accuracy method with high ability to partition which makes it possible to carry out the qualitative and quantitative analyses of the components mixed in the sample within the shortest period of time, deliver separate components of a complex sample. The purpose of the research was to compare the composition components of the bitumen and crude oil core samples obtained. As a result, it has been found that the portion of the light normal components is about 20%, and heavy normal structure alkanes is 50.5% in the total concentration of the oil extracted. According to the crude oil core samples studied, the heavy fraction is predominant; the average C21- C40 concentration is 67%.
