NEW DEGASSING TRENDS IN THE UNDERGROUND PARTS OF GASEOUS COAL MINES IN THE CZECH REPUBLIC
Abstract
Coal mining is connected with many burdens, which affect mostly the safety of mining. One of the most serious problems is exhalation of methane to the mine air. This Paper describes methods used for degassing in Czech Republic’s underground coal mines. Authors deal with new options and new trends in mainta ining security by the means of degassing drill holes. There are two main methods Czech Republic used to prevent accumulation of the Methane gas in gaseous mines. The first method is sufficiently effective ventilation. In this case the greater the amount of fresh wind is, the thinner the concentration of methane is. The second method is extraction of methane from the rock face before the beginning of mining by the means of degassing.
