Abstract

The web content grows annually by a geometric progression. Internet pages provide information not only through the markup language (X)HTML, which is used to create Web pages, but often in many different other formats and also web services. One task of this project is to make detail analysis of existing web services for obtaining the geographical coordinates of the given information and take advantage of them to extract spatial information from web pages. Positive results of this analysis in Czech information on the Internet could be a major alternative source of spatial data available free for all Czech users.
