SOCIAL NETWORK IMPACT ON ARSON CRIMINALITY

Abstract

The aim of the work is to point up on the relation among Arson criminality and social network groups. The impact of the internet social networks on arson crime is discussed in the paper. The impact of the top social networks incl. facebook or twitter is generally very high on the society. The arson criminality is partly hidden in the fire statistics especially in Slovak republic were the fire cases investigated with unknown fire source usually point up on the unknown perpetrator. Fire related crimes are often discussed on the social networks as well as other criminal topics. Arson crime is a specific crime usually typical for the introvert psycho type of the personality rather than extroverts sharing their actions, ideas, motivations via social networks. Social network impact on the general criminality is discussed as well. Social network impact on certain type of criminality including environmental and property damage was assessed. The technic questions of detection, prevention and elimination of the criminal acts influenced by social networks were introduced. Police officials, secrete services and other governmental bodies are in charge to prevent and eliminate social network related crimes. Arson crime as a specific crime may probably connected to other criminal activities including the pharmaceutical crime or organized crime where arson crime is a tool for revenge among the competitive criminal groups. The factors of social network impact on arson or environmental criminality were explained from the wider point of view in order to demonstrate the complexity of the topic.
