Abstract

The rich mining activity in the city of Ostrava (18th century ? July 1991) has so far reminded many areas, buildings, and head frames. This article will focus on mining sites the headframes of which have survived up to the recent time, thus completing the historical and industrial history of Ostrava. This is then used in tourism, where the mining tradition is one of the possibilities of promoting the city as an interesting industrial site. It is no accident that the Lower V?tkovice Area with the Hlubina Mine Area is the 4th most visited locality in Czech tourism.
