MONITORING OF BLASTING WORKS FOR TUNNELING AND THEIR IMPACT ON SEISMIC AND NOISE EFFECTS ON SURROUNDING BUILDINGS
Abstract
In our article, we have focused on measuring the magnitude of adverse impacts caused by blasting in tunnels on surrounding areas. Disconnection of the rock massive during tunnel construction takes place due to the release of energy from the blast, which changes to the energy of the seismic waves and causes deformation of the rock massive integrity. Blasting works generate noise and seismic waves with changing maximum oscillation velocities and a wide spectrum of frequencies. The intensity of vibrations of the seismic waves is proportional to the amount of the explosive used. If vibrations have adequate energy, the surrounding areas may be damaged or destroyed. Estimate the negative effects of blasting and quantification of seismic safety is currently a very actual and challenging problem. However, based on periodic measurements, it is possible to make a prediction of these effects. The article presents the results of blast monitoring in tunnels on the territory of the Slovak Republic. Rating of noise and seismic effects of blasting works in tunnels verified that have a methodical basis to estimate the noise and seismic effects of blasting work not only on surrounding buildings but also on the surrounding environment.
