REGIONALIZATION OF AGRICULTURAL LAND IN SLOVAKIA
Abstract
The report is dealing with the categorization of the agricultural landscape. Present classificatory systems of the landscape were analysed as the source material hereby, in preference, were soil, geographic and production specifics of individual Slovak region considered. On the background of vector data on extension of the soil-ecological regions of Slovakia using geographic information systems, it was possible to detach five types of agricultural landscape on the base of real production parameters of the individual districts during 1997 - 2013, as well as potential production parameters of evaluated soil-ecological units. To these types were assigned the attributes according to the characteristic and predominant soil type or kind. The representation of the individual types of agricultural landscape in total agricultural soil is as follows: - Zahorska lowland пїЅ light-textured soil of lowlands (Regosol type) пїЅ3.6 %, - Danubian lowland пїЅ medium heavy soil of lowlands (Chernozem type) пїЅ 30.9 %, - East-Slovakian lowland - heavy soil of lowlands (Fluvisol type) пїЅ 7.2 %, - lower and medium level basins (Stagnosol type) пїЅ 12.2 %, - submountains and mountains areas (Cambisol type) пїЅ 46.1 %. Detached types of the agricultural landscape are characterized in more details in the report mostly from the pedological (climatic region and soil characteristic пїЅ soil type, granularity, steepness, stoniness, production category, depth, point value, potential erosion) point of view. Potential type structures of seeding for the individual types have been elaborated as well as model productive and economic parameters, which are possibly accessible, have been stated. Selected typification of the agricultural landscape could be not only suitable plan criterion but also the basis of effort and realization of the state agricultural and soil policy.
