EVOLUTIONARY LINES OF DEVELOPMENT OF THE GENUS JAKUTOPRODUCTUS IN THE VERKHOYANSK REGION

Abstract

Based on the analysis of morphogenetic transformations of shells of the brachiopods, a scheme of phylogenetic development of the genus Jakutoproductus was developed; according to this scheme, three phylogenetic branches of Jakutoproductus, originating from one species - Jakutoproductus tatjanae Abramov et Grigorjeva, developed simultaneously at the end of the Carboniferous and in the Early Permian. In the morphogenesis of the genus, there are changes in the width of the shell, the degree of convexity of the ventral valve, the distinct manifestation of the sinus, and changes in the number of pustules on the ventral valve, weakening or strengthening of concentric rugae, a decrease in the number and disappearance of straight spines with ring ridges at the base in the anterior part of the ventral valve. Identification of the features of morphological transformations in species taxa of the genus Jakutoproductus allowed us to develop a new zonal scale of the Asselian-Sakmarian deposits of the Verkhoyansk Region and make fundamental refinements in the correlation of the Lower Permian of the Eastern Siberia.
