Abstract

Storage, protection and recycling of explosives, gunpowder and rocket fuel obtained from utilized ammunitions is significant problem. It requires, special services for safety and corresponding additional expenses on security and ecology. Same time, they are energetic materials and attractive for chemical and mining industry. One of the main directions for solving the above-mentioned problems is application of utilized ammunition for development of new industrial explosives for mining industry. Implementation of new explosives needs stable energetic and technological characteristics: full energy, detonation velocity, brisance, workability, etc. In most cases, explosives prepared on the base of utilized ammunition are characterized with low sensitivity on detonator-generated impulse and for stable initiation of detonation requires additional energy from outside sources (so called immediate detonators). Because, conventional methods and schemes not reliable and unusable in particular cases for determination of energetic and technological characteristics. The new methods and approaches for determination of energetic and technological characteristics of low sensitive explosives discussed and presented in the paper.
