MODELING OF MOTION OF HEAVY OIL SUSPENSIONS WITH REGARD TO RHEOLOGICAL PROPERTIES OF LIQUID IN A CIRCULAR PIPE
Abstract
Year by year, the growth of the share of heavy oils in the total volume is steadily increasing. For development of highly effective methods for its processing, approaches to modelling their properties should be elaborated. This thesis is dedicated to deriving and substantiating a formula for calculation of the velocity field in the round pipe volume as adjusted for rheological features of the flow of heavy oil suspensions. The suggested approach is based upon rheodynamics equations reflecting the flow of a rheologically complex medium in a round pipe by using modified Navier-Stokes equations where the deviator part of the tensor can be represented by a shear stress function which, in turn, is reflected in the rheological equation reflecting the dynamics of internal structural conversions in heavy oil suspensions and enabling us to determine the shear stresses depending on velocity gradients. The velocity profile has been computed for heavy oil from Yaregskoye field (Republic of Komi, Timan-Pechora Province). On the basis of the suggested concepts, the fields of velocities and effective viscosity of a non-Newtonian fluid have been computed by using the modeling procedure. High convergence of the obtained results with experimental data has been defined.
