Abstract

Technical equipment intended for use in potentially explosive atmospheres generated by the presence of combustible dusts is provided with enclosures that must be designed in such a way as to ensure protection against the ingress of solid bodies and/or dust, as well as water, a concept materialized by the notion of normal protection degree. or increase protection (international code IP). The expression of the normal degree of protection of the casing of a technical equipment is done through the group of letters IP (international code), followed mandatorily by two characteristic digits and, optionally, by additional letters, respectively supplementary letters, depending on the request of the beneficiary, in relation to the intended use of the respective equipment. In accordance with the specifications and requirements of the standardized testing method for determining and verifying the normal degree of protection of equipment, adopted and implemented at the level of the European Union, within the ENExEMEIP laboratory of NRDI INSEMEX Petro?ani, laboratory tests related to determining and verifying the first characteristic digit of the normal degree of protection have been developed. In this paper work, is presented the test stand for determining and verifying the normal degree of protection IP5X and IP6X - partial and total protection against dust ingress - in the case of large-sized equipment
