SEDIMENTOLOGICAL AND HYDROGEOLOGICAL CHARACTERIZATION OF THE FIRST AQUIFER FROM EROILOR AREA, BUCHAREST, ROMANIA
Abstract
This paper consist of creating a conceptual model of the first aquifer identified in the central area of Bucharest. The conceptual model was developed in three stages: the spatial schematization, the parametric schematization and the hydrodynamic schematization, based on data from geotechnical boreholes. Mathematical modeling of groundwater flow requires knowing the entire system, from the geological and spatial distribution of permeable geological structures to hydrogeological parameters of the aquifer (hydraulic conductivity, transmissivity, porosity). The origins of the data package used to build the model comes from geotechnical boreholes in the study area and it consists in information about hydrostatic levels, intercepted lithology and information related to the construction of these wells. The study aims to a better sedimentological and hydrogeological characterization of the Colentina aquifer, which is representative for Eroilor area, Bucharest. For a better groundwater management, knowing the high vulnerability of the first aquifer, with this model we can create various scenarios: transport of pollutants, water exploitation, monitoring the influence of the Dambovita River on this aquifer.
