THE INVESTIGATION OF WASTEWATER QUALITATIVE / QUANTITATIVE PARAMETERS IN IMAM KHOMEINI-PORT PETROCHEMICAL AROMATIC UNIT, IRAN
Abstract
Imam Khomeini petrochemical co. is one of the biggest oil producer centers across Iran. Aromatic unit is one of the eleven units of corporation. Hygienic and industrial wastewaters are flow in swage system of the unit. Industrial wastewater consist a considerable volume of swage and produced in 9 different section of aromatic unit. Wastewater of this unit evacuate to the seawater without forwarding through the suitable water treatment system. With purpose of qualitative and quantitative study of aromatic unit’s wastewater, Samples were taken from three areas: CPI system’s exit, entrance of CPI and 100’s unit wastewater. Hourly, daily, weekly, monthly fluctuations of 11 different parameters (e.g. turbidity, pH, Q, temp, electrical conduct, Mg-H, Ca-H, TSS, etc.) of three sampling areas and weekly fluctuations of 21 parameters (e.g. turbidity, pH, electrical conduct, Mg-H, Ca-H, TS, SS, COD, NO2-3, PO4, SO2, SO4, Color, oil, heavy metals, etc.) in compound samples of CPI’s entrance and exit of this unit has been measured and compared with standards. In CPI’s exit area parameters like Oil, SS, Fe, etc. and in 100’s unit wastewaters parameters like PO4, PH, NO3, etc. were more than standards. At the end, some suggestions for reducing these parameters and improving wastewater treatment system have been inserted.
