Abstract

The overall objectives for business sustainability have become increasingly more important for companies, and for stakeholders of the company. Socially responsible companies must be involved in creating and developing sustainable businesses, which gives them competitive advantages and added value. The theoretical frame of the paper is based on the model of value chain. Each element of the chain explores the Corporate Social Responsibility issues, adopted/designed by each functional department of the companies, oriented towards sustainability. The paper investigates, through an analysis based on questionnaires applied in the SMEs from Maramures, Romania, the strength and the importance of sustainability for the organization and influence of integration of responsible sustainability on the value chain of the companies? activities. Results of the study are useful for managers of the companies that wish to implement sustainability within their companies, thereby creating an environmentally, economically and socially responsible business.
