Abstract

The updated genetic classification of mineral deposits as natural objects, whose origin is ambiguous, is presented. The classification is based on the petrological and lithological principles, which makes it universal. The conditions for the formation of endogenic, exogenic, and metamorphogenic deposits are considered. Endogenous objects are divided into three groups: magmatic, metasomatic and hydrothermal. Sedimentogenetic, diagenetic, and catagenetic rows are distinguished among the exogenous deposits. Metamorphogenic deposits contain dynamothermal, regional metasomatic and migmatite classes, as well as thermal, dislocation, and impact metamorphism ones. The examples of typical mineral resources are given. The modeling methodology is used, static models are analyzed that reflect the state of the objects at the time of the study, and based on the results of exploration. Genetic models of deposits have been built, based on these topics, and taking into account modern data. Genetic retrospective models reflect the history of the processes that led to the deposit formation. They characterize the morphology, mineral, and chemical composition of the mineral resources bodies, the occurrence conditions, the features of the surrounding rocks. This allows using the special models in the preparation of promising mining projects.
