LONG-TERM MONITORING OF THE SLOVAK NATIONAL UPRISING BRIDGE
Abstract
Nowadays we see an increase in traffic intensity all around the world. The traffic infrastructure is extremely loaded by the traffic, which causes deformation of its parts. In addition to traffic load, significant is the effect of the weather conditions (wind, sunshine, temperature changes). All the mentioned effects cause changes in the spatial position and in the shape of the bridge structures. Due to these facts, geodetic monitoring is an integral part of bridge structures diagnosis and gives important information about the behaviour of the monitored bridge. The paper presents a proposal of an automated monitoring system for long-term monitoring of The Slovak National Uprising Bridge in Bratislava. The bridge is an asymmetric cable-stayed steel structure with one pylon, which connects the centre of Bratislava with the city district PetrпїЅalka over the river Danube. The system is based on a total station, tilt sensors, GNSS receiver, accelerometers and on complementary sensors for monitoring the temperature of the structure and the weather conditions. The system itself, test measurement, data processing and the results of the initial measurements are described.
