IDENTIFICATION AND CONTROL OF GEODYNAMICAL RISK ZONES IN THE WESTERN CARPATHIANS USING GEOPHYSICS, SATELLITE IMAGES AND GPS DATA.
Abstract
A distinctive structure has ascertained in the area of the Western Carpathians on the bases of the Remote Sensing, in the past. Their explanation and verification has not yet realized, even though all structures have regional character and many morphological signs, which ambiguously point out recent activity and deformations, including the present earthquake foci. Among mentioned structures belongs to the interpreted non-linear structures - ?gravity nappe? in the western part of the Nizke Tatry Mts. and adjacent area of the Slovenske rudohorie Mts., resemble sliding block in the Male Karpaty Mts., and Ukraine Flysch Carpathians, linear boundaries interpreted as tectonic systems - Myjava-sub-Tatra and Hron tectonic zones or Muran-Malcov and Transgemeric tectonic zones. Their important role in neo-tectonic plane of the Western Carpathians were confirm newly unified GPS data from permanent EPN stations and GPS campaigns realized in during last decades in mentioned area. On one chosen example Muran-Malcov tectonic zone - from the area of Slovakian Western Carpathians there are present and interpreted results and common verifications of the satellite images, morphological, geophysical and GNSS data. In particular, GNSS data enabled the movement tendency control to be check and the dynamics of the surrounding area of this significant tectonic structure of the Western Carpathians determined.
