ANALYSIS OF CHARACTERISTICS OF THE DATA PROCESSING IN SOFTWARE SYSTEMS WITH NON-UNIFORM LOAD
Abstract
The paper deals with the problem of evaluating the characteristics of information systems at the design stage. In the design of ERP-systems the most interest characteristic is not the average time, but the probability of timely delivery of different type messsages (for example, command, service, multimedia, files, etc.) from the sender to the recipient. In addition, the possibility of using the priority information management built on the basis of service disciplines of general form with mixed priorities must be considered. To solve this problem authors used open queueing network with a nonuniform data flow. The method of calculation of information system characteristics , based on the decomposition of the network model is proposed. The end results obtained with this approach and priority management are approximate because different classes of message streams at the output and input nodes of the computer system differ from the simple. As shown by simulation in a wide range of parameters corresponding to real systems, the error of the analytical method proposed results are in acceptable limits for engineering calculations. The results can be used to solve the optimization problem of data transmission networks of modern information systems of defining and routing algorithm to prioritize different classes of messages to provide given delivery time.
