THE USE OF SIMTALK PROGRAM FOR MODELLING DISCONNECTION OF RAIL VEHICLES IN THE MINERAL RAW MATERIALS MINING
Abstract
Mining rail transport is one of the main transport systems within intra-plant logistics of mining enterprises. Its main task is the transportation of raw materials from mining sites for further processing. For efficient operation it is necessary to apply planning and optimization tools. Within the optimization processes as a one of the key tools in engineering practice appears to be a computer simulation method. For proper applying it is, however, necessary to handle modelling of some particularities which are related to mining rail transport. Among these particularities include for example disconnecting of mining wagons on the travel route. The aim of this paper is a description of options for modelling process of disconnection mining wagons in the program Tecnomatix Plant Simulation using the SimTalk program. SimTalk presents a highly powerful programming tool for applying the method of additional programming. Its use greatly increases the application possibilities of Tecnomatix Plant Simulation software and enables solving a wide range of engineering problems in mining and manufacturing industry. Within the simulation is presented a simple and effective solution to these problems and possibilities of using additional programming methods in the mining industry are highlighted.
