THEORY OF SOLID OXIDE FUEL CELLS
Abstract
In recent years, the concern for renewable energy sources has intensely increased the studies on fuel cells. Solid Oxide Fuel Cells (SOFC) among other fuel cell technologies is seen as an ideal preference in order to be used as cogeneration system with its high operation temperature. The operation of SOFC fuel cell systems depends on thermodynamic, electrochemical and mass transfer theories. In this study, the mathematical models of electrochemical events occurred in solid oxide fuel cells were investigated theoretically.
