Abstract

The paper describes the automation of astrogeodetic measurements in determining astronomic station coordinates $\Phi$, $\Lambda$ and determining astronomic azimuth A. The automation has been developed at the Faculty of Geodesy, University of Zagreb. The results of precision testing are presented. There are also the applications of automated astrogeodetic measurements in engineering geodetic practice illustrated, first of all those needed for the determination of the surface of astrogeodetic geoid and for independent check-up of geodetic networks above long tunnels, but also for the purpose of increasing the accuracy in the tunnel cutting direction.
