EXPERIMENTAL MEASUREMENT OF PRESSURE LOSSESS REGARDING HIGH CAPACITY PUMPING
Abstract
This topic presents methodology and selected results of indirect differential measurements of discharge pressure, flow rates and pressure losses, which has been obtained during testing of specific high capacity pumping module (HCPM, prototype MCS-25-330-K), developed by Sigma Lutin, ltd., and Hydraulic Research Center in 2016. For long range transportation of water (1 km, 2 km and 3 km) in this case, classical rubber hoses with DN150 has been used, although the research team did know, that it wasn?t the optimal choice. According to this DN, two experimental setups with 2 induction flowmeters FLONET FS10XX (ELIS, Ltd.) and 2 pressure piezo resistance sensors with temperature compensation (AHLBORN ALMEMO FD8214), has been built as well. The measurement itself has been provoked by general lack of verified pressure losses data in the area of emergency high capacity water pumping using rubber hoses with DN 150 and wider (e.g. DN200, DN250, DN400), needed for further development of operational guideline for HCPM field deployment.
