Abstract

There is environmental quality as a one of the factors determining the quality of life in EU countries. EU countries use a combination of different tools of economic policy to ensure environmental (as well as economic) quality. However, environmental protection cannot be implemented without financial support. The most important tools of economic policy, already traditional used, are economic tools, which could improve the quality of the environment and quality of life. Environmental protection has become a part of the economic policy and there is realized as a separate area - environmental policy. Environmental policy is an essential part of the economic policies of developed countries. The main aim of environmental policy is to enter into the productive and consumer decisions of the business sector and consumers and its intention is to achieve changes in the management of subjects in favor of environmental protection. The paper focuses on the application of selected environmental policy tools and deals with the differences and similarities of environmental tools application in the conditions of the EU area. The aim of the paper is to evaluate the application of selected economic tools (in the process of sustainable development) in EU countries.
