The idea of schoolпїЅs mine established by the Technical University of KoпїЅice started a few years ago as a result of needs to improve learning process in study programs related mining, tunneling and geotechnologies and improvement of practical education. We take as example mines or other underground facilities that are used in the learning process at our partner Universities in the Czech Republic and Poland. In the article are described all of the possible options of formation a terrain workplace in an underground, in an old mine or a newly built underground facility. At this time there are no underground facilities which are suitable for practice education students of Faculty of Mining, Ecology, Process Control and Geotechnologies. There are many options in a region of KoпїЅice and East Slovakia to use an old abandoned mines for needs of a learning process and research of our quality scientists. Within a radius of 100 km, there are many places where previously was excavated an industrial mineral. In a paper are accurately described possibilities to improve learning process and preparation of our students to perform special activities in practice.
