DETECTION AND MAPPING GROUND DISPLACEMENT USING SENTINEL-1 TOPS FOR IASI COUNTY
Abstract
The main goal of this research is to detection and mapping ground displacement using Differential Radar Interferometry (DInSAR) technique. DInSAR is a powerful tool to detect and monitor ground deformation. Ia?i county is considered as study area in this research. Study area is geographically situated on latitude 46В°48?N to 47В°35?N and longitude 26В°29?E to 28В°07?E. For this paper was used Sentinel ? 1 images, kindly provided by The European Space Agency (ESA), which cover period January - December 2017, with vertical polarization (VV), ascending orbit and Interferometric Wide swath (IW) mode operated. SNAP was used to process the Sentinel ? 1 images. Data processing include two important steps: the DInSAR investigation and the GIS analysis. The first step is performed in SAR geometry and consists in the analysis of the interferometric data, both, spatial and temporal levels, with the goal of detecting areas affected by deformation. The principle output is a set of zones potentially affected by deformation. The second step (multilayer GIS analysis) suppose to drape the deformation map over geomorphological data.
