Abstract

Competition in air transport is growing and is a significant factor influencing airlines in the development of the strategy. In this article, we analyse the Bucharest-Tel-Aviv line which is operated by three airlines Tarom, EL AL and Blue Air, which are not allied and have no bilateral agreements. These companies are therefore direct competitors, and in our analysis, we are more closely examining their pricing policy over the reference period. By analysing the data we compared the possibilities of the aforementioned carriers, which results in an evaluation of the price competition on the given line. Air transport is an environmentally friendly mode of transport that needs to evolve in the coming years to reduce engine emissions. Nevertheless, air transport is one of the most environmentally friendly modes of transport and passenger interest is still growing.
