QUARTZ (GLASS) SAND - THE BASIC RAW MATERIAL FOR GLASS-MAKING
Abstract
The most of the mineral raw materials mined out in the Slovak Republic need specific modifications, which are enabling for the next exploitations of raw materials in the other industries. This article provides description of the quartz sand, that are able to use as foundry or glass sand after proper modification. Of course, the sand is needed modify by the proper method, which could allow their use in melting, glass and in the other industry. In this article is provided short report of the most often exploited modification methods of this sand.
