INFLUENCE OF WEATHER CONDITIONS ON THE SOLAR ENERGY EXPLOITATION IN THE CITY OF KOSICE
Abstract
Nowadays, when the amount of exhaustible energy resources in the world are reducing and their prices are increasing proportionately , mankind tries to find alternative sources of energy. Use of solar radiation has huge potential in th e future. Already today, the sunlight is transformed into heat or electric energy. For the conversion of solar energy into electricity we are using photovoltic cells. The Slovak Republic is in the use of photovoltaic systems on the tail in the Euro pean Union. Electricity produced by photovoltaic panels can then be used to drive pumps in the heating or cooling systems. In this article we focus on the interacti on between the photovoltaic system and heating system, under certain weather conditions in the city of KoЕЎice in Slovakia. A closer look at how weather affects the efficiency of photovoltaic panels. As part of this research, there was deve loped methodology to ca lculate the amount of produced electricity, which is directly base d on measured weather conditions for the city of KoЕЎice during the last years.
