THE INFLUENCE OF ALLOYING ELEMENTS ON SINTERED IRON PARTS TESTED FOR HARDNESS
Abstract
New materials based iron powder, with several addition elements obtained by powder metallurgy. The sample were obtained by compacting of 500 M Pa , obtaining a sampless and sintering in dry hydrogen atmosphere at the different temperatures. The sintered samples were metallographic prepared by polishing in order to investigate the porosity and evaluate the microhardness of individual grain and structural constituents. I am studing the effect of addition elements on Rockwell hardness and microhardness. Hardness is the resistance of the material to deformation of the surface caused by the effect of geometrically body. Rocwell hardness was evaluated from 50 -80 N. The sintered steel parts of the structure of subject hardness Rockwell containing brass powder. From results and observation concerning the hardness and microhardness test of the sintered iron steels of the selected it was concluded the highest value from materials with 5 % Pb sintered at 950 0C for 50, 60 and 70 minutes. The weakest conduct test hardness to the material that is composed of brass. The lower values of the fourth composition hardness are explained on the basic of high porosity on the matrix containing zinc powder.
