Abstract

For several years already, Latvian companies have been participating in the evaluation of Sustainability Index where the environment is an important factor. Sustainability Index is a tool aiming to help companies in establishing the level of sustainability and responsibility. In addition, it supports and praises the enterprises that help to strengthen the Latvian economy, environment, and society in the long term. One of the elements of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) is the impact of the organization on society, the topic is current - environmental protection can be promoted mostly by teaching clients, cooperation partners, society, as well as showing an example with active involvement in the study of environmental problems and regularities. 21st century PR emphasis should be placed on environmental issues. The author shares the opinion of many experts that the change of thinking, the attitude towards the environment will be the result of a sustained and professional cooperation process of the society and decision-makers. The author studies Latvia's experience in educating entrepreneurs and society using focus groups.
