INTENSIVE TECHNOLOGY OF CREATION OF THE HIGH-STRENGTH AND MOISTURE RESISTANT PLYWOOD MATERIALS
Abstract
The increased requirements to the strength of products from glued wood, in particular to plywood are imposed at the modern wood processing factories. The data on the development of high-strength plywood materials with the use of new intensive technologies are presented in the article. For creation of high-strength plywood polarization is used in the course of production of plywood. Polarization was carried out by means of fixed electric field. It is revealed that process of polarization exerts positive impact on adhesive properties and moisture resistance of plywood materials. It is determined that processing of a polymeric component of glue and of not cured plywood samples by fixed electric field raises its gluing capabilities. The plywood samples obtained by this technology have higher strength. Increase in strength and moisture resistance is explained by change of structure towards streamlining of an arrangement of its elements and reduction of interatomic distance. These structural changes promote removal of internal stresses and transition of atoms to more profitable energy condition. Change of structure of the glue modified by electric field is followed by creation of plywood of the increased strength. The plywood samples polarized in fixed electric field are more resistant to delamination, buckling and keep the integrity in humid environments longer.
