Abstract

Often manufacturing and preparation of samp les for geomechanical characterization is expensive and time-consuming and energy, and estimate various properties can be made by using empirical correlations. As part of the geomechanical characteristics of rocks are closely linked, can achieve a quantit ative and qualitative an alysis using the correlation functional relationships that can exist between physical properties, strength and deformation. Correlation between rock properties relationships have been established on the basis of regression equati ons and standard deviation resulting from experimental data. Correlation was chosen for each type of regression (linear, logarithmic, polynomial, power, exponentia l) depending on the standard deviation (R 2) results for each data set. This paper will be presented a series of correlations between the geomechanical characteristics of the rocks, resulting from the experimental data obtained in the laboratory for magmatic rock from South Apuseni. Various types of correlations, as mentioned belo w, have been prop osed and published in the literature. After analyzing the experimental data obtained in the laboratory, on the basis of regression equations and standard deviation for igneous rocks (volcanic and Plutonic) of the South Apuseni Mountains were determined empirical equations for calculating the correlations and geomechanical characte ristics. Empirical relations based on experimental data obtained are intended to simplify how to determine certain properties. Key words : magmatic rock, empi rical correlations, math ematical regression, geomechanical characteristics
