Abstract

The article defines the subject of facility management and its possible application in the operation of water supply networks. The operation of structures for water supply is not a simple matter, and it is tied down with the responsibility to guarantee trouble-free and safe operation with limited financial means. Reliability, Facility Management and water supply networks are supported by Czech technical standards. We are going to include some of them, as well as some important concepts, terms, and links of Facility Management for the operation of the water supply networks, which makes seamless and uninterrupted functioning of such complex systems. The slightest interference with the operability of these systems can then result in deterioration of the quality of human life. Interruptions of drinking water supply does not lead to limitation of the human life standard only, but also limits the functionality of other components of the State in which the company is directly dependent. These requirements, however, are unthinkable without a quality project, professionally executed construction, use of modern materials and processes goes hand in hand with top technical equipment, ensuring their quality performance management, maintenance and renewal of assets. High quality design, well managed and maintained water network then creates one of the principal segments of the urbanized area.
