Abstract

This article presents the results of studies and research performed for the development of some environment management systems, based on information linked to the spatial and temporal distribution of areas with rainfall deficit. Climate change is a complex phenomenon, accompanied by a wide variety of effects. Rapid alternation, between severe heat wave/drought and abundant rainfall/flooding, is more and more obvious. Aridity increase, drought, erosion accentuation and soil desertification are considered to be severe problems that directly affect ecosystems and, implicitly, population life conditions in many countries of the world. In this context, some climate indicators have to be analyzed, indicators that can be considered instruments in the description of a climate system state, as well as understanding climate variation mechanisms. In the process of quantifying climate change regarding aridity and drought in a certain area, the de Martonne aridity index was used, based on temperature and rainfall as weather parameters. Using this indexпїЅs monthly average values, obtained by processing meteorological data corresponding to a 30 years interval (1983пїЅ2013), some appreciations could be done on BucharestпїЅs metropolitan area. Analyzing the obtained values has made it possible to identify climate types related to certain yearly time intervals. In order to emphasize the relationship between temperature and rainfall, in order to identify the interval with the humidity deficit, the ombrothermic Gaussen diagram for Bucharest was built. Establishing the climate regime made it possible to analyze aspects linked to territory redevelopment, as well as designing and placing buildings with different destinations.
