MAIN TYPES OF GOLD DEPOSITS OF THE EASTERN KAZAKHSTAN
Abstract
The Bolshoi Altay (BA) located in the north-west part of Central Asian mobile belt on territory of the East Kazakhstan. The geological structures of the BA include Rudniy Altay, Kalba-Narym (in the north-west), Zharma-Saur, and neighbouring regions of Russia and China and, was formed in the Hercynian time in the process of collision of Kazakhstan and Siberian lithosphere plates and degradation of Irtysh-Zaisan paleo ocean. Regional and local criteria for forecasting of gold ore deposits of the BA have been developed, their age position has been ascertained and their relations with certain geological formations have been determined. The Zaisan collision zone (with an extension of more than 1000 km and width of 20-40 km) is of ore controlling importance. It was formed as a result of concussion and turning of lithosphere plates. The zone corresponds to the East-Kazakhstan gold ore belt of regional ranging. Within this zone there are more than 450 deposits and ore occurrences of gold including the unique Bakyrchik deposit. The flanks of the gold ore belt can be traced to Russia and China, its perspectives are underexplored.
